SOEREN VARMING
|
Mr. Soeren Varming,
CEO (1959-2010)
Mr. Soeren Varming was the CEO and founder of YTL-SV Carbon. He had
been active in climate change issues for more than 15 years and
since 2003 he had lived in Kuala Lumpur. He had been involved in all
aspects of climate change:
- Advising governments and private companies on mitigation strategies
- Developing CDM projects for private companies and for buyers of CERs
- Assisting host countries in setting national approval systems
- Research in design of policy measures for mitigation of climate change
Mr. Soeren Varming has experience in climate change issues from
a large number of countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Iran, Nigeria, Estonia,
Poland, Russia and Ukraine
Mr. Soeren Varming oversees a strong team of consultants with collective experience in CDM of over
10 years and working on various methodologies. All the consultants are highly qualified from science
background with past work experiences in liquid and solid waste management, renewable energy project,
waste water industry, palm oil refinery and quality management and assurance fields

ILANGO S BHARATHI |
Mr. Ilango S Bharathi
Govindarajulu, Deputy Chief Executive Officer 
Ilango is a chemical engineer with more than 15 years experience in liquid and solid waste management,
renewable energy project development and with 4 years experience in CDM projects.
- Has very good exposure to all aspects of CDM project development
- from identification to registration- and commercialization of emission reduction assets.
- Has exposure to all kinds of CDM projects - successfully registered hydroelectric,
wind, methane capture projects and has been handling geothermal, biomass and natural gas projects in
India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, etc.
- His experience in solid and liquid waste treatment plants aids in maximization
of emission reduction assets in methane recovery and landfill gas CDM projects.
- Has negotiated and concluded contracts for sale and purchase of emission reduction assets.

OTTAVIA MAZZONI
|
Ms. Ottavia Mazzoni, Senior Project Development Manager

Ottavia Mazzoni is an expert in project qualification under the Kyoto Protocol Mechanisms.
Her expertise spans from project origination, PDD preparation, utilising existing methodologies and,
where needed, developing deviations and new methodologies and monitoring to forestry and land use,
focussing mainly on REDD plus.Ottavia moved to Malaysia at the beginning of 2009 to become
the South East Asia Qualification Manager for a major player in the carbon market, being
responsible for the qualification of GHG reducing projects in the region, overseeing the preparation
of project documents finalised to the realisation of carbon credits, undertaking quality control activities
and technical support. Ottavia also has experience in the preparation of processes aimed at streamlining
the procedures involved in the identification, qualification and monetisation of projects. Since January 2009
Ottavia joined YTL-SV Carbon’s dynamic team covering the role of CDM project development Manager.
In the past Ottavia worked on a number of projects for multilateral agencies as
project manager in the areas of rural electrification, sustainable development and Climate Change
capacity building. Ottavia has a degree with honours in Mining Engineering (petroleum Engineering)
from the Universita` di Bologna in Italy and an MsC degree in Environmental Technology from the Imperial
College in London. Her previous working experiences saw Ottavia working extensively both in West and East Africa.

ELAINE CHAN
|
Ms. Elaine Chan, CDM Consultant

Elaine Chan is a CDM Consultant with YTL-SV Carbon. She holds a Master’s degree in Energy & Environment from
the Malaysia University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental and Occupational
Health from University Putra Malaysia.
Elaine brings with her four years of experience in research, management and consultancy in areas of
energy and environment. Before joining YTL-SV Carbon, Elaine was involved in various research and
consulting projects dealing with renewable energy technologies. Her responsibilities were in team management
and conducting research and providing content on emerging energy technology topics. Her expertise in the energy
industry include solar and wind energy, carbon capture and storage, and energy storage technologies. Prior to that,
Elaine has experience in environmental impact assessments as an environmental consultant. Her responsibilities
include air quality assessments and health impact assessments.

CHAK TZE CHIN
|
Ms. Chak Tze Chin, CDM Consultant

Tze Chin has a degree in Wood Science and Technology and a diploma in Forestry from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
She has been trained in developing Project Design Document (PDD) and monitoring plan for CDM Projects.
She has very good experience in methane recovery CDM projects in palm oil mills and palm biomass power projects.
