SV Carbon was founded in 2006 and has since grown to be the biggest CDM project developers in Malaysia and the third biggest in ASEAN with strong experience in palm oil and renewable energy projects.

In January 2008 YTL Corp purchased a majority stake in company and the name was changed to YTL-SV Carbon Sdn. Bhd.
